Thin Section Bearings

Thin Section Bearings as listed below are available open, shielded or sealed. Available in a variety of standard and custom inch and metric sizes, our thin section bearings offer high performance in corrosive and non-corrosive environments where space devoted to bearings is at a minimum.

Thin Section Ball Bearings

Thin Section Ball Bearings

These thin section bearings are made from 52100 chrome steel and 440C stainless steel. They come ina series as well, consisting of the SR series, the 6700 series, the 6800 series. the 63800 series, and the 6900 series. Some sizes of these bearings can be produced open, shielded, orsealed.

Constant Section (cs) Bearings

Constant Section (cs) Bearings

These thin section bearings were developed for applications where space limitations are most important. They have an extremely small, predominantly square cross-section. Within each series, the cross-section remains constant giving them the unique description as a constant section bearings. There are basically three types: deep groove radial contact, four point contact, and angular contact. We offer the four point contact type since these are most popular and can support axial loads from both directions as well as radial loads; they thus act in the same way as double row angular contact ball bearings.

Flanged Thin Section Bearings

Flanged Thin Section Bearings

Flanged thin section bearings have a solid steel flange on the outer ring. This allows the bearing to be more easily located in a housing. The flange can also help to prevent axial movement of a bearing subjected to a thrust load or high vibration. Flanged thin section bearings are used in applications where space is at a premium or weight reduction is required. Thin section bearings have low rotational torque and high rotational accuracy.
